Congratulations to MS&E Prof. Itai Ashlagi for being named a SIEPR Senior Fellow!

Senior Fellows at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) are tenured faculty and senior researchers at Stanford who draw from each of the university’s schools and conduct research, teach courses, and advise students.

Prof. Ashlagi is interested in game theory and the economics and design of marketplaces, and his current research focuses on marketplaces in which matching is an essential activity. To solve complex matching problems, he applies tools from economics, operations, and computer science to practical problems.

His work, for which he has become a Franz Edelman Laureate, has influenced the practice of kidney exchange. An algorithm he developed with PhD student Sukolsak Sakshuwong helped facilitate a historic kidney exchange between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
