Pre-MS&E experience

I graduated from an interdisciplinary undergraduate program in mathematics, statistics, computation, and finance. I later did my MS in Biostatistics at Harvard, and at the same time worked part-time at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, working on designing statistical methodologies and randomized experiments for clinical decisions. The interdisciplinary nature of MS&E along with the diversity of both the students' backgrounds and the faculties’ interests are what draw me in.

Desired post-MS&E impact

Data arises from every corner of the world. While blessed by the rapid development of computing memory and learning theories, we may also be misled by the abuse of data. With study here, I hope to combine statistical theories with computation and field knowledge, and therefore help with people’s better command of real-world data.

Interests and hobbies

I practice yoga regularly as it supports me through a lot of stress and difficulties. I can play a little pipa, a four-stringed pear-shaped ancient Chinese instrument. I also love spending my time in the kitchen experimenting baking recipes and cake decorating. Participants for those experiments are always welcome!
