Work and academic experiences
I've had significant and meaningful experiences learning about the ways quantitative analysis can support meaningful decision making. My entire career has been focused on leadership and interactions between people and the ability to integrate decision and data science into real world processes which has led me to this program.
Impact you hope to have in your field and the world
I would like to utilize the vast amounts of data that we generate to help decision makers optimize their choices. Too often, the use terms such as 'analytics' and 'data-based decisions' become buzzwords not actually incorporated into the decision-making process. If I could make robust analysis, prediction, and decision support a little more consumable and recognizable to people responsible for large-scale strategy and decision making I would feel like I was a success.
Interests and hobbies
I enjoy camping with my family; we're on a mission to visit as many national parks as possible. Another mission we're on is to visit all the major league baseball parks in the country. We've been to every one west of the Mississippi and several east. I enjoy BBQ, football, and finding random data sources on the internet to analyze.
