Academic and work experience

Before joining the MS&E program, I completed my undergraduate studies at the School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University. From a young age, I have been passionate about mathematics, captivated by its elegance and theoretical beauty. However, during my undergraduate years, I discovered that my interest extended beyond pure mathematical theory. I became fascinated by the application of mathematical concepts to gain deeper insights into the techniques we are using and the world around us. This realization led me to major in applied mathematics, where I conducted research in sampling and optimization, and developed broad interests in statistics and machine learning, etc. Driven by a desire to further explore these areas and apply them to challenges in computer science, economics, and other fields, I was inspired to pursue a PhD in MS&E.

Impact I hope to have in my field and the world

I aspire to develop novel algorithms and apply them to complex problems, especially high-dimensional and non-convex ones. Additionally, I hope to deepen our understanding of existing algorithms through rigorous mathematical theory. Beyond technical contributions, I am passionate about inspiring girls who share a love for mathematics to confidently pursue their passion, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Interests and hobbies

Gym, traveling, painting, horseback riding, movies and music. I am a big fan of Taylor Swift!
