Academic and work experience

Before starting my PhD at Stanford, I completed my undergraduate studies in mathematics, with a minor in computer science, at Princeton University in 2020. Having taken courses in several theoretical fields, I found my passion for using mathematical rigor to analyze algorithms. I was also inspired by how, over the years, the design of algorithms and data analysis methods helped society distribute resources more efficiently. The excellent research experiences and mentorship I received during my college years motivated me to pursue a PhD in MS&E.

Impact I hope to have in my field and the world

The main goal of my PhD experience is to achieve mastery in my field. This involves both having a deep understanding of state-of-the-art optimization methods, and being able to design new algorithmic tools for problems that arise in either academia or industry. While at the moment my preferred role after the PhD program is in academia, I would be more than happy to collaborate with industry researchers as well, or, at the very least, find inspiration for my research from problems relevant to the technology sector.

Interests and hobbies

My outdoor hobbies are biking, hiking and playing tennis, and my indoor hobbies are reading and playing chess.
