Linda Esquivel receives School of Engineering Diversity-Inclusion staff award

MS&E's Career & Affiliate Services Officer is recognized by the School for her outreach and events geared toward inclusivity.

Congratulations to Linda Esquivel, who is the first recipient of the Stanford School of Engineering's Diversity-Inclusion Staff Award!

Linda is one of six recipients of school-wide awards, and the only person who earned the inaugural Diversity-Inclusion award this year. Below is a note of congratulations from Jennifer Widom, Dean of Engineering, congratulating Linda (with links added for context):

"In a year when anti-racism, belonging, and diversity efforts gained critical momentum, Linda’s work was exceptional. As the Career & Affiliate Services Officer for MS&E, Linda built on her past record of organizing successful Women in MS&E panel discussions to organize, launch, and moderate both the inaugural MS&E Black alumni panel and the Latinx alumni panel events. A founding member of the department’s new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, and a BRIDGES (Building Racial Justice, Inclusion, and Diversity Guidance for Engineering Staff) committee member as well, Linda is also instrumental in supporting diverse students and alumni through her work on the MS&E career website and through communications focused on the educational experience and career paths of alumni from underrepresented student populations."
