Hannah Li receives INFORMS Dantzig Disseration Award
Congratulations to MS&E alum Hannah Li (PhD '22)!
Li received the George B. Dantzig Dissertation Award from the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) for 2023. Her winning dissertation, Experimental design and decision-making in marketplace platforms, models the interference a platform designer might experience when testing new functionality on a subset of its users and proposes a novel class of experimental designs and estimators to mitigate such issues.
The Dantzig Dissertation Award is given annually for "the best dissertation in any area of operations research and the management sciences that is innovative and relevant to practice," according to INFORMS. This is the second time in four years that a student advised by MS&E professor Ramesh Johari has received the award, following Nikhil Garg in 2020.
