Grace Guan selected as 2022 NCWIT Collegiate Award Honorable Mention

Congratulations to MS&E PhD student Grace Guan for being selected as an Honorable Mention in the 2022 National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Collegiate Award!

The annual award recognizes technical projects that demonstrate a high level of creativity and potential impact. Guan was selected for her work on predicting COVID-19. Her study, titled Early detection of COVID-19 outbreaks using human mobility data, used cell phone mobility data along with health and socioeconomic data to help predict COVID-19 outbreaks in Israel.
