Four MS&E PhD students receive VPGE fellowships
Congratulations to PhD students Enrica Archetti, Varun Gande, Christopher Flowers, and Annika Younge for receiving 2026 VPGE fellowships!
The fellowships, administered by the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education (VPGE), each have a distinct focus, and while the selection processes vary, all are highly competitive and involve several levels of faculty review.
Enrica Archetti received a Dissertation Completion Fellowship (DCF). DCF fellows participate in a structured, cohort-based program, which supports progress towards their graduation and career goals. In the inaugural year of the program, 16 DCF fellowships were awarded.
Christopher Flowers received a Lieberman Fellowship, which supports doctoral students in the later stages of their programs who have already demonstrated outstanding accomplishments, as well as the potential for leadership roles within the academic community and promising careers in university teaching and research.
Varun Gande received a Stanford Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellowship (SIGF). These three-year fellowships are awarded to current doctoral students engaged in interdisciplinary research and the pursuit of questions that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries.
Annika Younge received a Stanford Graduate Fellowship in Science & Engineering, which is awarded to doctoral students who are nominated by their departments to receive two-year and three-year awards.
